MM Residency, Karaikudi

The stay

MM Residency is a hotel on Sekkalai Road, in Kalanivasal, Karaikudi. Twelve rooms is small on purpose. The person who answers the phone is usually the person who will be at the desk when you arrive, and nothing about a stay here has to go through a call centre first.

Rooms come in three sizes - a twin at 240 sq ft, a queen at 300, and a suite at 420 with a sitting area. Every one of them opens to a card issued against your booking: there is no key to hand back and nothing to sign at the desk on the way out. You can see all three, with their rates, on the rooms page.

Parking is in our own compound and it is free, for a car or a two-wheeler. Check-in is from 2 pm and check-out is at 2 pm - tell us your train or your bus and we will do what we can either side of that.

Step by step

How a stay here works

Before you arrive

We send a link after you book. Fill in your details and ID from your phone on the way.

At the desk

Check-in is from 2 pm. Your card is issued against your booking and stops working when the stay ends.

During the stay

Ask for anything - extra towels, a late checkout, a taxi at six - and it reaches the person who acts on it.

On the day you leave

Check-out is at 2 pm. Every charge has been on your bill since the moment it was posted.

Behind the desk

The technology you will actually notice

None of this is why you chose a hotel. All of it is why the stay feels effortless.

Your room opens to a card, not a queue

An RFID card is issued against your booking and expires with it. Lose it and the front desk cancels it in seconds.

Check in before you arrive

Your details and ID go in from your phone on the way. What is left at the desk is hello.

Ask for anything without picking up the phone

Extra towels, a late checkout, a taxi at six - requests reach the person who acts on them.

Your bill, itemised, as it happens

Every charge appears the moment it is posted, so there is nothing to argue about at checkout.

Questions about the stay

What time can I check in?

Check-in is from 2 pm and check-out is at 2 pm. Tell us your train or bus time and we will do what we can either side of that.

Is there parking?

Yes, and it is free. Parking is in our own compound on Sekkalai Road, for a car or a two-wheeler, so there is no hunting for a space on the road. It is unattended, so vehicles are left at the owner's risk.

Can a third person share the room?

Yes. Every room type takes a third guest on an extra bed, at the charge quoted when you book. Tell us who is coming - including children's ages - and we will hold the right room.

What do I need to bring to check in?

A valid government photo ID for every guest aged 18 and over, which Indian law requires us to see. Foreign nationals need a passport and a valid visa.

How does the room key work?

Your room opens with an RFID card issued against your booking. It stops working when your stay ends, and we can cancel a lost one in seconds.

Can I check in before I arrive?

Yes. We send a link after you book - fill it in on the way and there is nothing to do at the desk but collect your card.

Do you have a hall for a wedding or a function?

Yes, a 1,200 sq ft banquet hall on the same site, with free parking. We can hold a block of rooms against your function at the same time. See the events page or call +91 95009 97585.
